Gayla Meredith grew up on the prairies in rural Manitoba, Canada and spent 23 years in a variety of educational settings in Canada's Northwest Territories followed by seven years on Gabriola Island situated off Canada's West Coast.
Together her rural, northern and Gulf Island living provided first-hand experience in a variety of small communities, remote, multi-cultural and socio-economic settings. As an NWT educator, Gayla taught in Yellowknife and took up territorial and national education advocacy. During these times, she witnessed, first-hand, the realities and impacts of stress and burnout on caring professionals, personally and professionally. Her time on Gabriola Island afforded her a nourishing, peaceful and beautiful natural environment where she immersed herself in creative artistic pursuits and developed her abilites and credentials in the area of Healing Arts and Wellness.
In addition to being a a retired educator, artist, published author, and a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner, Gayla's also holds certifications in Sound Therapy, Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma, and HeartMath's Stress, Anxiety and Emotional Regulation.
In addition, as a life-long learner curious about the science behind all aspects of energy work, Gayla continues to pursue professional development in the areas of polyvagal theory, trauma response, trauma-informed practice, heart-rate variability, vagal toning, frequency medicine and sonic science, just to name a few. Gayla continues her learning through online courses, webinars, workshops, summits, HTP Healer Development series offerings and many other avenues of ongoing PD.
