Robert Roy
Credentials
Robert was born in Van Buren Maine and moved to Edmundston, New Brunswick at the age of ten. After high school, he moved to Moncton, to pursue his post secondary studies in nursing. In 1986, Robert graduated as a Registered Nurse from the École d’Enseignment Infirmier Providence school of nursing.
Robert worked first as a graduate nurse, then as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit of the Dr-Georges-L. Dumont Hospital before joining the Extra-Mural Program team in 1992. While working full-time, he studied part-time and in 1998, Robert obtained his bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University de Moncton.
In 1999, Robert accepted the position of Nurse Manager in Oncology, and in 2003, he began studying energy work through the Healing Touch Program. In 2006, Robert became a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner as he integrated energy work to his nursing career.
In 2004, Robert became the first Brachytherapy Nurse Navigator in the Province of New Brunswick, collaborating with patients, diagnosed with prostate cancer, and their families, in becoming empowered through knowledge and understanding of the diagnosis, the treatment, and the management of post treatment side effects.
In 2018, Robert became a Healing Touch Level 1 Instructor through the Healing Touch Program and in 2020, he certified to teach Level 2. That same year, Robert also earned the title of Qualified Mentor, mentoring students and supervised mentors navigate through the Healing Touch Program.
Robert is pre-retired from an over 35 year nursing career, working three days a week, and pursuing his passing for energy work. He now lives in Shediac, New Brunswick with his wife Murielle, and their dog “Mr. Cooper.” In his spare time, Robert enjoys time with family and friends and being out in nature. His preferred activities are walking along the beach, camping, biking, golfing, and playing tennis.
